6th May, 2020
Hi 6th Class,
I hope you all had a good week and enjoyable weekend.
I know you’ll all be aware that we will not be back together during this school year. It is very disappointing for you and for myself that this should have happened. It’s hard luck on you but safety has to be a priority, I’m sure you’ll all agree.
Moving forward, I would ask you to email me if you haven’t a lot or any access to a laptop/computer etc. Any student who needs to, may borrow one from the school until the end of term. Please email me if you would like to take one on loan.
With regard to IXL Maths, I hope you have all received your passwords and usernames. Choose the 6th Class Level and try out a range of activities this week.
I hope to start using seesaw with you over the next few weeks so please ask your parent/guardian to complete and return the permission form.
As we have completed “Carrie’s War”, we will proceed to our next novel, “The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas”. Some of you may have the book at home already but for those of you who haven’t, you will find a link to both the pdf and audio versions on our 6th Class St. Colman’s Web Page.
The e-leathanach will also be posted up on the web page for the week.
Please note that the answers to “New Wave Mental Maths” and “English in Practice” are also on our web page. Do the day’s questions first and then self-correct. Be honest with yourself! If you come across a question you need explained, please email me.
Thank you to the boys who completed the 100 Word Challenge this week. I have loved reading your stories and would like to encourage every one of you to do it please.
Below you’ll find a plan for the week. I’ll also send on some worksheets as attachments.
Again, do what you can and don’t hesitate to email me requesting a laptop or any other help.
Please send me at least one sample of work per week to stay in touch. I worry when I don’t hear from you!
Try and get out and exercise in the fresh air when the weather is fine.
Stay safe.
Kind regards,
Mrs O Sullivan.
