Number 8:
25% = ¼
Find ¼ of €600 and take it away. ( Because it says 25% OFF)
Problem: Weight
Please note - There are 5 sections between 0 and 1 - therefore each dash/ section is 1000 divided by 5 - 1000/5
IXL Site
Today I want you to do all FRACTIONS.
I have put some videos up on the website to help you revise these.
J.5 Patterns of equivalent fractions
J.6 Write fractions in lowest terms - All we have to do here is simplify.
Example: Write 2/6 in lowest terms. Ask yourself what number goes into both the top number and the bottom number of the fraction evenly. In this case it’s 2. So 2 into 2 goes 1 - 2 into 6 goes 3……..2/6 =1/3
J.7 Mixed numbers
J.8 Convert between improper fractions and mixed numbers - Please note you need to write each fraction in its lowest terms or they will be marked wrong.
To convert between an improper fraction to a mixed number divide the numerator(top number) by the denominator(Bottom number)
Example: 17/3 …... 3 into 17 goes 5 and 2 over. Answer = 5 2/3
To convert between Mixed Number to an improper number.
Example:
2 ⅕ - Change the 2 into fifths - 2x5 = 10 plus the one fifth that’s there already so that’s 11. Answer 2 ⅕ =11/5 .
It’s important to spend at least 30 minutes a day on these. Some of you are stopping too soon. They start easy and get harder. You should be aiming for a Smart Score of as near 100 out of 100 as you can get!
