Our completed folder is looking good. We are very proud of our work!
Our book A Trip down Memory Lane would not have been possible without the help & advice of numerous people.
We would first of all like to thank our class teacher, Mrs Boyce initially signing us up for JEP & for her involvement in the whole project as an overseer. Secondly we would like to thank our Dragons: Mrs Finnegan, Mrs O' Connor & Mr Kieran Fitzgerald for their time, their thought provoking questions and their invaluable advice. Next we would like to thank our business visitor, Mrs Patricia Moylan, who spoke to us openly and honestly about her business and gave us some great tips and advice as young entrepreneurs. We would like to thank all the Staff of St Colman's for their ideas, help & encouragement at all times. We would also like to thank Ms Niamh Barry, the JEP Cordinator, who was always at the end of a phone if our teacher needed advice. Last but not least we would like to say a special thank you to the Boys of St Colman's BNS for producing fantastic pieces of writings & illustrations for our book. Without them, it wouldn't have happened! 6th Class Junior Entrepreneurs, St Colman's BNS. The Showcase of our book "A Trip down Memory Lane" was held on Monday 23rd in our school. Because we have no hall, we did two presentations.
In the morning we did a showcase for all the boys and staff of our school.Afterwards we distributed the pre-ordered books and our Marketing Team did another Sales Pitch to try and sell the last few books. In the afternoon we invited our parents, grandparents & childminders, our fellow entrepreneurs from the Girls' School and their teacher Mrs Murphy(Brandon's mom), our dragons, Mr Kieran Fitzgerald, Mrs O' Connor & Mrs Finnegan and our business visitor Mrs Patricia Moylan of the Daily Grind. It was a full house! We started by watching a slideshow of photos of our journey through JEP. Conor then started proceedings by welcoming everyone. He then handed over to our Presentation Team for the day - Erin, Brandon, David and Patrick who explained about Our Story of JEP from Week 1.Conan and Brian were in charge of the laptop and of moving each slide along at the right time. Alex and Matas then showed us the book and explained where our inspiration came from. Finally Niall and Brian acknowledged all the help and advice we received from numerous people. We were delighted with our selves and our parents went home very proud of us! Unfortunately due to all the excitement on the day we forgot to take photos of our Showcase. Today we had our JEP Easter Egg Raffle. As a thank you ( & as a Marketing Ploy!) the 6th Class held an Easter Egg Raffle for each class. Every boy that bought one of our books "A Trip down Memory Lane" was included in the raffle. Well done to the winners - Matthew(1st), Dan(2nd), Shane(3rd), Callum(4th), Colin(5th) & David(6th). Thanks to everyone for their support. It was very much appreciated! Today we sold our last 2 books. We were delighted. Alan & Wojciech were the lucky recipients! Well done & Thank you boys!
