This week we spoke about Market Research & Conducting Surveys. Surveys are used to gather Information.
Coincidentally Transition Year Students from Colaiste Treasa paid us a visit this week and asked to take part in a survey for their Mini-Company. This was a huge learning curve for us.
We decided to use this survey to gather information from 6th Class on their views/Ideas on the format and price of the book. This is important to us as we want the whole class to take ownership of this project and to be involved in all the decisions relating to price & format of the book.
Once the Survey was delivered then the "real work" started. Different groups were responsible for adding up the responses for each question. Last but not least each child constructed a bar chart or pie chart to represent their findings. We used http://nces.ed.gov/nceskids/createagraph/default.aspx to help us create a graph online.
This week we also concluded our Preparation Work for our Business Visitor on Monday. A sample of our Prepared Questions can be read on our Blog.
