All the boys throughout the school were busy writing spooky Hallowe'en Stories for the Corkman this week. We hope to see some of them printed on the paper over the Hallowe'en Break. Warning these stories are not for the faint hearted!

We are having a very busy week in St Colman's taking part in Maths Activities all week. Some classes are doing daily maths puzzles, quizes, estimating and playing maths games. Great fun is being had.
 Our Green School's Committee were deighted with the response to our recent Clothes and Books Collection. Many thanks to all those who contributed. In order to further improve our Problem Solving Skills throughout the school, each week we hope to challenge the boys with a Weekly Maths Puzzle. These were last weeks puzzles.    
We had some terrific entries to the Energy Slogan Competition.The Winning Slogan was written by Colin W in 5th Class. His slogan was "Switch off - To keep St Colman's Switched On! 
The slogan for second place was written by Dara in 2nd Class. "Save the enegry, Be part of the dream, Join St Colman's Energy Team." 
Well done boys! They received a Homework Pass each.
Last June we asked the boys to take part in a Summer Reading Challenge. They kept track of all the books they read in their Log Cards and returned them to the school in September. All the returned Log Cards were entered into a raffle for a Book Voucher for our local Book Shop. The lucky winner was Eoin O' Keeffe from 2nd Class. Well done Eoin. Happy Reading! 
On Thursday the School Photographer was with us. He took Class and Individual photographs of 1st & 6th. The proofs of these should be ready in the next week or so.
Our boys have been busy designing and colouring their Christmas Cards. They have been sent off to the printers and we hope to have them back later in the month. We can't wait to see the finished products.
