On Wednesday our 4th & 5th Classes went bowling. A great day was had by all.
Yesterday our 6th Class went to Blackrock Castle Observatory. They learnt about comets and Rosetta's Mission. Today as part of Rosetta's Mission an attempt is being made to land a probe on Comet 67p.
Fabulous Photographs were returned to the school for 1st & 6th Classes last Friday. If you wish to order these photos please have your order in by Thursday 13th. Class Photos can be viewed in school. Remember there is no obligation to buy any photos.
Congratulations to 6th Class who won a free trip to Blackrock Castle Observatory as part of a Science Week Competition.
Well done to Keelan, Conor, Sebastian, Matas & Patrick who researched and wrote about Rosetta's Mission for the competition. The finishing touches were put to our Credit Union Art Entries before Hallowe'en. This year's theme was ARTFEST. Well done boys on putting in a great effort. The entries were very imaginative and colourful. Let's hope we have a few budding artists amongst us!
The boys in St Colman's spent October learning about Limericks. We read and wrote many funny limericks. Before Hallowe'en we entered a Limerick Competition at our Local Library. The opening line was
"There once was an animal from Cork" Wouldn't it be great if we had a young poet in our midst! |
