Today we had the honour of Carol Singing with the Lorraine O' Riordan Gospel Choir. Many thanks to our Parents Association for organising this event for us.It was a great festive way to finish off our term. Happy Christmas everyone!
And the WINNERS are :
Well done to all our winners. Enjoy! Congratulations to the following boys who received Selection Boxes for their exemplary reading during the Advent Readathon - Keelan C , Jack Q, Adam W, Stephen S, Michael, Paddy D, Oisín, Matthew D & Kns. Well done Boys! Keep reading during the holidays!
Today 4th, 5th & 6th went Carol Singing in O' Brien St. They were fundraising for COPE foundation and School Funds. Many thanks to Patricia for organising the event and to Eileen, Padraig & Denis for collecting money on our behalf. Well done to all for a hugely successful event. Yesterday we had a fundraiser for Muscular Dystrophy Ireland. Each child was asked to wear a Christmas Jumper / Hat and to make a donation. It was a day when we fondly remembered two of our past pupils - Ciarán Forde & Keith McAuliffe who had this condition and recently passed away. The senior boys went to Mass for them and the Juniors had a prayer service in the school where they lit two candles for the boys beside the crib. These were lighting for the day in their memory. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anam.
May they rest in Peace. On Tuesday 1st, 2nd & 3rd went to Cork Opera House to see Sleeping Beauty. Great fun was had by all.
Today we had our annual School Christmas Mass. A big thank you to all our families and friends who attended. We were very proud of all our boys who took part in the Mass. Well done Boys!
6th Class took part in THE HOUR OF CODE on Friday. The hour of code is a global campaign whereby millions of students worldwide take part in an hour of Computer Science designed to show us that anybody can learn the basics of computer programming.
They were in good company this week as Barack Obama and David Cameron also took part! Check out their projects on their blog. Each boy did some or all of these Coding Projects with Scratch. Feel free to try them out. 1. Animate your name with Scratch 2. Design a Christmas Card 3. Create a Pong Game Yesterday we attended a Penitential Service in the Church with the Girl's School. This was followed by confessions.
Yesterday we had a visit from Fr Sean Corkery, our Diocesan Advisor. He visited all classrooms and spoke to the boys about God and religion. He was very impressed with our boys. Well done Boys!
