10th May 2020
Hello 6th Class,
I hope you and your families are well.
Thank you to all those boys who have emailed work samples to me.I
really love to see how you are progressing.
Thanks also to the boys who have done the 100 Word Challenge and
a special word of congratulations to Tadhg who earned a showcase.
Well done, Tadhg!
Well done to those of you who have been working so hard on IXL
Maths. I’m monitoring your progress and I know that some of you
have been doing Trojan work.
This week we will begin to use Seesaw. I have sent you a code if I
have received permission via the google form from your
parent/guardian. This week I intend to put up one fun activity daily.
You can respond in text, picture, video or audio. Surprise me!
Cork County Library and Arts Service are running a creative writing
competition “The Superhero from Cork”. It can be a maximum of 500
words. If you’d like to enter, (I hope you do!), please submit your
story on the 100 Word Challenge site. I will correct/edit it and enter
it for you. All the information is on our class page of the St. Colman’s
BNS website. This is completely optional but as we have excellent
writers, it would be a pity to miss out.
As you know, May is the month of Our Lady. You have free access to
Grow in Love online.

Click on Sixth Class. Scroll down and click on ‘Theme 12
@seasonal/Additional Material’. Click on Lesson 4 ‘Mary, Mother of
God and Our Mother’. Explore the prayers/activities etc.
It seems a long time since the day of your Confirmation. There is
good news about the DVD recording of the ceremony. You can now
email me to order it at a cost of 20 euro. I can take orders until
Friday May 15th. The school will arrange a place/time and date for
safe collection. Many thanks to the parent who made the inquiry
about this as I had completely forgotten all about it.
Please find below a Work Plan for this week. Pick and choose what is
the right amount for you to do but please keep up the good work! As
always, please email me if you have any
concerns/problems/questions or just to let me know how you are.
Stay safe.
Kind regards,
Mrs O Sullivan.
