Reading: This week we’ll continue with Charlie and the Chocolate
Factory (if unfinished) and the PM ebooks .
We only have access to this website for a limited time.
I enjoy listening to the boys’recordings of their reading so please keep this up. One or two recordings a week if possible.
***It’s important these books are at the right level. Your son should be able to read most of the book comfortably (90 percent accuracy). If your son is finding the book too hard or too easy please let me know and I’ll make an adjustment. ***
Instructions:
Type app.pmecollection.com.au on web browser.
It is accessible on ipads and tablets too. Type pme collection into app store. Click on PM symbol.
I will send on your son’s username and password so you can login. I was able to keep the same password that your child has for IXL website but usernames are different.
Now you will have access to your bookshelf.
Using ebook:
Select a book. The cover comes up first.
At the bottom right corner click on tab READ.
Using mouse, scroll to right arrow and click to go onto next page.
On ipad swipe from right to left to move on.
To record:
Having opened your ebook and clicked on READ tab, go to
left side of the page. Under the arrow key is the navigation button (an orange rectangle with lines), click on this.
Five options appear at the bottom of the screen.
Play button= Will play the recording.
I will get a copy of the recording.
If the microphone option is not available, please check your settings, that your computer allows it.
10.Independent Reading Button = This allows recordings to be made, also words and pages to be read by computer.
If you change this setting to “Guided Reading Profile”or “ Custom Reading Profile” you lose these choices.
If you have any difficulties please let me know.

Monday: No. 7 = What other 3D shape has same number of faces/same number of corners? Name 2 different 3D shapes.
How many faces?corners?edges?
Tuesday:No.3=82, Tell 10 different ways using + ( 3 numbers e.g. 45 + 35 + 2 = 82) and – to make a total of 82 .
Wednesday: How many combinations of coins can you think of to make €1.42
Thursday: No.9 = Continue the number pattern to 50
Friday:No.8= What time is it a half hour / 3 hours earlier; ½ hour/4 hours later?
Problemsolving: Remember underline key words. Draw pictures to help. Use “ RUDE”
R= Read
U = Underline
D = Draw
E = Evaluate. .Does your answer make sense?
Remember mistakes are good when we learn from them.

Let's Go Fly a Kite – A collective call to action for children, young people and their families to make and fly a kite for Cruinniú.
The Design and Crafts Council Ireland have joined forces with Creative Ireland to design a kite that anyone can make at home. All you need is some sticks, some newspaper, some string and a whole lot of imagination. Why not decorate in your county colours, or decorate it with pictures of your favourite pop star? From the 15th May, a series of webinars and videos will guide you and your family through fun ways to make a kite.
