We displayed great Team Work this week designing and colouring posters promoting our JEP Book "A Trip Down Memory Lane." We are very proud of the end results!
We received the proof of our book this week. We made a few changes to the cover and now we are delighted with it. We put in our order for 100 books on Tuesday.
In the past few weeks the Design & Production Team have been very busy negotiating with the Printers and deciding on - the different printing options - the number of books needed & the colour of the Book Cover, We have put most of our Decisions to a Class Vote and this has worked well. Our Sales Team & Finance Team in consultation with the class have decided that we are selling our book for €8 each or 2 for €12. Our Marketing Group have been busy promoting our book. They have gone around to each class advertising our book. A text has been sent out to parents informing them that we are taking orders for our book from Wednesday 11th of March. Posters have also been made. Our Finance Team have suggested that we all buy shares in our company. It was suggested that each child bring in €8. This will entitle each boy in 6th Class to a book and an equal share in any profits made. Our Sales Team will be taking the orders each morning and will be handing over the money to the Finance Team. The Finance Group will be counting all monies and banking the money with the School Secretary. Our Story Telling Team are just getting started telling the story of "Our Journey through JEP." We plan to tell our story using an Animoto Video and a Prezi Presentation. We also hope to put together an A3 Folder displaying our photos and worksheets.
Our Finance Group are busy working out costs. Which will it be? Option 1, Option 2 or Option 3. Nearly there!
Our Design & Production Team putting the finishing touches to our JEP Project today. Exciting Times!
Today we had a visit from business person & entrepreneur, Patricia Moylan, of the Daily Grind a newly opened Coffee Shop in O' Brien St., Kanturk. Patricia told us about her Business Journey and answered our numerous questions. We found her very open and honest about her venture. Thank you, Patricia for your time and knowledge. We wish you every success in the future.
This week the whole school were very busy putting finishing touches to their stories, typing and drawing illustrations for our book. Most of 6th took part in Drawing competitions to design the front and back cover for our book. We also had a competition to write the introduction for our book about "Our Journey through JEP." Our project is nearly ready for the printers!
