We are now on our 4th Green Flag and our theme is – Global Citizenship Marine Environment. We carried out a survey on 28/9/17 to see how much information is known among the school community about our Marine Environment. The result of this survey is as follows;
We surveyed 33 pupils and 5 teachers;
12% of students and 60% of staff had heard of the term marine litter
1% of students and 100% of staff could list 3 sources of marine litter
1% of students and 100% of staff could list 3 reasons why marine litter is bad for the environment
12% of students and all staff could list 3 ways of preventing marine litter entering the environment
1% of students and 100% staff could list 3 ways in which climate change affects the marine environment world wide
From the results we can see that we have a lot to learn on this theme. We look forward to exploring and learning about our Marine Environment over the next two years.
