6th Class boys had 2 sessions with Briege Corkery learning about setting up a business.
5 companies were formed and each class member took on a role. The boys learned about marketing, designing, finance and banking. After a lot of hard work and cooperation, each company presented their product idea to our two visiting dragons Mrs Marion Walsh and Ms Emma Burke. Power point presentations, posters, flyers and business cards, all made by the companies, were used to sell their ideas.
After some hard bargaining, the dragons bought a share in each company for a percentage of the business. The boys had to manage their ledgers and keep their affairs in order. It was a great learning experience.
Many thanks to Briege for all her hard work and to Marion and Emma for giving so generously of their time.
