New Wave Mental Maths : Week 35 Monday & Problem
Number 1.
¼ + 4/8 =
My advice for this sum would be to simplify first.
4/8 = …(What number goes in - top and bottom? - 4. So 4 into 4 goes 1 - 4 into 8 goes 2.)
4/8 = ½
Number 13:
Area of rectangle= 36m squared
Length = 9m
Side c=
Area = L X W
Put in the numbers.
36 = 9 x __
Side C = 4m
IXL Site
Today we are going to revise Time: U1, U2 & U3.
You will need to have a pen and paper ready to work out the sums.
U.1 Convert time units
Time Numbers to Remember:
60 seconds = 1 minute
60 minutes = 1 hour
24 hours = 1 day
7 days = 1 week
14 days = 1 fortnight
12 months = 1 year
365 days = 1 year
366 days = 1 leap year
U.2 Add and subtract mixed time units
When adding & subtracting time, it is easier to write them down , one under the other. And REMEMBER - Keep the hours & minutes separate.
U.3 Elapsed time
These are word problems. Write them down in numbers and then add or subtract.
Again please try and spend at least 30 minutes a day on these.

There is no need to do every sum but aim to spend 30 minutes a day working through these chapters.

After that, it's wide open. It can be of pets, flowers, nature, toys, landscapes or objects around the house.
You must upload the photo on Seesaw or send it to me via email.
Closing Date: Friday at 3pm.
