New Wave Mental Maths Starting on Week 32
We have a 4 day week this week ...so as always do both Monday & Tuesday on the first day! We do work hard in 5th Class!

This week we are going to concentrate on Directed Numbers ( Positive & Negative Numbers ) A8, A9 & A10 and Number Sequences Q1 to Q5.

Again please try and spend at least 30 minutes a day on these. This week I will also be putting up videos explaining some of the trickier/ newer concepts.
Check out the Daily Work Plan on the school website / Seesaw as I will break it down further on that.

For those not engaging with the IXL Maths Site, please check out Chapter 29: Directed Numbers and Chapter 31: Rules & Properties
There is no need to do every sum but aim to spend 30 minutes a day working through these chapters.

Better English Unit 27 pg 108 - 111
Spellings to go with the unit. Words ending with -tion
These are on pages 124 & 125 of Better English.
Spend at least 10 minutes a day on Vocabulary Spelling City working on Week 27 and on Friday do the Spelling Test ME.
Read at Home - Week 27 pg 105 - 108
Our Novel : There’s a Boy in the Girl’s Bathroom.
Starting a new novel this week. It’s available on a PDF on the website and I’ll also put up a soundcloud so that the boys can listen to it being read and follow on the PDF at the same time.
Planning to do a Chapter a day to start with and I’ll be posting up daily activities for you on Seesaw based on this novel.

Do it Tuesday ...if possible. I look forward to reading your stories as always. Try and use as many WOW Words as possible.

I will put one up everyday on our Class page. Write down the definition and put it in a sentence as we always do. Try and include them in your stories.

Why not do a Project on something that interests you Try using Powerpoint or Google Slides. Email it to me to see it and I’ll put it up on the website. If you are working on a Project ...obviously cut down on some of the other work given.
Maths is the only work that I would prefer you to do every day.

I will post 1 activity a day for you to complete on Seesaw.
Be adventurous in your response using the writing / drawing / video / photo/ recording functions. Some of you are doing amazing work.
This week I want everyone to do at least one piece of written work on Seesaw instead of in your copies - answering questions ...etc.
(Post it in the JOURNALon Seesaw) or if you prefer, take a photo of some work and upload it on Seesaw or email it to me.
