I wandered into school one day
Thinking about games my friends would play.
When all at once I saw a flock
A team of blooming daffodils.
Beside the school beneath the trees
Bobbing and nodding in the gentle breeze.
********************
My class had planted the bulbs right there
In our ‘green school’ boxes for all to share.
What beauty to our school they bring
The bright yellow colour is just amazing.
A student could not be but happy
With such a friendly welcoming party.
******************
So take time to stop and stare
When you see our daffodils be aware.
Their leaves are shaped like blades of grass
They are like the people praying at Mass.
Compiled by 2nd and 3rd class
