ENGLISH:
Reading: Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. Continue reading.
I hope boys are enjoying this great story.
Possible activities:
Who is on the front cover? How might these details give us clues as to content of the book?
Where is the story set? Why did Roald Dahl choose this setting? How does this affect what happens in the story?
Think of 5 questions to ask Grandpa Joe.
There are lovely activities on Charlie & the Chocolate factory on Twinkl website.

Use https://www.spellingcity.com/users/mrsdlinehan as a link to access lots of spelling games based on Spellbound. Find ‘Spellbound Unit 26’.’Try a game’.
Maths:
You can use the fun Tables Challenge game on the 1st & 2nd class blog page on our school website ( Scroll down the right side) or Daily 10 ( level 2 addition or subtraction)
Mathemagic 2: Time pgs. 104 – 109 It would be useful if boys could use an old clock at home or make a clock with a paperplate. Lots of practise of ordinary and digital time is needed. If preferred there is no need for boys to complete these pages they could instead practice showing o clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to times on their clocks saying the digital time also. ‘Quarter to’ is a difficult concept to master e.g. ¼ to 10 = 9:45’.Boys should be encouraged to use the clock at home frequently to tell the time.
Extra practise on IXL learning website. I will send out your child’s username and password to access this site.
