Mathemagic 2: pgs. 123 - 127
This week the boys will be preparing for 3rd class multiplication with skipcounting in 2’s, 3’s, 4,s and 5’s. This work can be done orally if preferred.
Extra activities available in Figure it out 2 (Your child has this book on loan) pgs. 68 and 69 or I have highlighted certain activities in IXL learning website this week for extra practise if needed.
New Wave Week 30…ideas to expand learning
Tuesday : no. 8 = 154, How much more do you need to make €2/€5? What coins would you use?
Wednesday: no.8 = How many quarters in 1 litre? In half a litre? Which has more ¼ l or ½ l.? Find containers with ½ or ¼ l at home.
Thur: No.7 = Continue counting back in 2’s to 0.
Fri: No. 7= What is the last day/date in September? So what day is October 1st? How many days would you go to school in Sept? Do you remember the rhyme for number of days in the months?....30 days has September,
April, June and November.
All the rest have 31.
Except for February alone.
Which has 28 days clear
and 29 in a leap year.
How many days in November/ March/December?
Problemsolving: Remember underline key words. Draw pictures to help. Use “ RUDE”
R= Read
U = Underline
D = Draw
E = Evaluate. .Does your answer make sense?
Remember mistakes are good when we learn from them.
